Call Of Duty Modern Warfare III (2023)

Gameplay Trailer

Campaign

Call of Duty Modern Warfare III was a huge surprise. I heard it was coming out in the middle of one of my streams last week. Which came to me as a shock initially cause we just got Modern Warfare II last year! I thought that Activision was going to pump the breaks on releasing new COD games year after year? Whatever the case is. I’m just happy to be getting Modern Warfare III and not Advanced Warfare. The gameplay reveal trailer is more theatrical than actual gameplay. But it looks awesome nonetheless.

The Synopsis of the game states that it is a continuation from Modern Warfare II. As we follow Task Force 141 as they try to defeat the ultranationalist war criminal from Russia. I’ve never been one to play the campaign missions in Call of Duty. But this new campaign against the Russians introduces a new open combat system, which allows players to customize their loadouts. Also, it looks like we are getting the Gulag in the campaign. But I’m not sure if that means we will also be seeing it in Warzone 2. Personally, I would love for Activision to expand Warzone 2 by bringing back the classic maps of Warzone 1. But maybe that’s just hopeful thinking.

Vault Edition

As the trend has been in the video game industry for the past decade or so. You have your option of purchasing the cross-gen version/standard or the vault edition. Which is available on PS4 and PS5, Xbox X & One, Battlenet, and Steam. Now I of course will be getting it on the superior system. PS5. The vault edition comes equipped with Modern Warfare 3, early access to the open beta, early access to the campaign, SOAP and Nemesis operators, not one but TWO weapon vaults, and, in case that didn’t make your wet gun squirt. You also get the Season 1 Blackcell battle pass. Which includes 30 tier skips. Plus 5 more if you have the superior system. If you can’t afford it. Go to college, pick a career, get in debt, settle for a cubicle job that you dread going to everyday. So, that you can come straight home. Grab that controller and plug in for a few hours and forget all about your problems.

It’s unclear whether Warzone 2 will be a part of this game or not. But if I was a betting man. Well, I’d be on the streets panhandling for some change. Because I would bet it all and lose. But I’m sure it will be integrated with MW3. Which means, we should be getting some new details on that soon.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer will come with all 16 launch maps from MW2, wait that can’t be right, oh wait it is. So, why call it MW3? I’m very confused. Are they just re-releasing MW2 in a new package? That would certainly explain why this game is just being announced now and hardly any new information about the game has been released. Even though the game is 2 months away from its actual release date. What is known is that all 16-maps from MW2 will be included in the release. That includes fan favorites like Rust, Quarry, and Terminal. Just to name a few. Large maps will also be returning with a new mode called War. Activision states that this new game is a “Return to Classic” style gameplay and modes. Which will include things like map voting, classic mini-map and loadouts/gear setups.

Zombies

Much like Multiplayer, not much is known about Zombies. But the site states that it will be an open world zombies. Which is the first for Call of Duty. It is said to be the largest zombies map ever. It will tell of a new story, which will include core zombie features, new missions, and plenty of secrets to be discovered. Personally, I am probably in the minority here. But I always found Call of Duty Ghost’s mode Aliens to be more exciting than zombies. But you can’t go wrong with those zombie scares.

Conclusion

So, strap on your weapons of choice and get ready to dive back into Modern Warfare 3… the remake is not the good one. See you on the frontline soldiers.
